Kidamerinks Moms: Frugal Pampering

I've had one of those weeks...

Where, as soon as the kids are in bed... It's ME time!

I am in serious need for a bit of pampering (which is important to not forget as a Mom).

All I want to do is take a nice LONG relaxing bath and read for 45 minutes without being interrupted!!
That's what every Mom wants, right? Or is it just me?? :)

I'm excited because I'm going to try this homemade hair mask that I found at Girls Love Style. It was really easy to make and I think it will help my really dried out hair that is in need of a "real" spa treatment... if only!

There are quite a few different recipes listed, I'm going to do the first one with bananas, olive oil and an egg yolk (simply because I have all of that stuff on hand)... and my hair could use some TLC.

I just threw everything into the blender and it turned out like this:

I'm excited to try it out, it smells good and looks just like a thick conditioner.

Relaxation is in view......

Very Soon, I hope!!

Kidamerinks Moms: Fly Lady

Seriously, I don't think I would survive without The Fly Lady.

What is The Fly Lady you ask?

It is a site that helps you stay on "task" with your housework.
For some reason, I need this. I need someone to tell me what to do everyday so that my house stays clean.

Now, I usually have a relatively clean house... but, if you look closely (please don't) you may see some grit and grime that I haven't gotten around to. I HAVE KIDS!!

But, the Fly Lady addresses these issues!

You can sign up for her daily e-mails and she works her way through different "Fly Zones" in your house that we forget to clean or needs attention. You only need to spend 15 minutes a day in your zone and then be done. By the end of the month, you have a cleaner home.

It's simply brilliant, and every Mom should know about this site!

It's nice to get a daily reminder of things that you "forget" to clean, or can't get to during your regular cleaning -- At least, I find it very helpful! And, it is broken down into a daily task so you don't get overwhelmed with having to do EVERYTHING!!

So, start here: Beginner Baby Steps, and start learning how to FLY!!

The first habit is learning to always shine your sink, and then you work up to Fly Zones and Super Fling Boogies. Funny terminology, but it helps de-clutter and clean your house little by little. It also helps you get into a routine.

It's just awesome!

I made these to help remind me of my daily tasks... Yeah, I need reminders. I'm a visual person, and this works the best for me.

These sayings are from The Fly Lady.

They turned out pretty cute, and they are so simple to make.
I got the wooden frames at Michael's for $1. Then, mod-podged cute paper on them. Printed out my goal, and put it in the frame. Then stapled a ribbon to the back and hung them on a 3M removable hook.

Easy-Peasy, and so much cuter than a sticky note! :)

Since having these around in my house, I've stuck to my goals better and my house isn't in C.H.A.O.S. (Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome) mode anymore!! :)
All thanks to The Fly Lady...

So, go learn to Fly with The Fly Lady! It's awesome!! :)

Kidamerinks Moms: Me Time

As this is the first post in many to come, I want this section of this blog to be all about Moms.

Most of us Mom's have become completely taken over by our kids...

Well, at least that is how I feel some days.

It's not a bad thing, its great actually. I love my little Kidamerinks to pieces and I'm extremely grateful that I get to stay home with them Full-Time now, but it is important to take time out for yourself as a person and individual.

You may have seen this all over the "style" blogs, but... Oh.My.Word.

These hairstyles are to die for!! They are so cute.

My hair is just getting long enough to do some fun things with, and I am excited to try some out.

And to take the time to do them, since we (Mom's) deserve that time!

Check out this Hairstyle Handbook Here.

I've tried a few of these and have gotten a lot of compliments.
